[FAST News] Open Water Clinic CANCELED

The North Texas LSC Open Water clinic has been canceled due to lack of 
interest. Open Water is an event that USA Swimming wishes to get more of our 
swimmers involved in to compete in lakes, oceans, etc; some good swimmers in 
the pool will turn out to be outstanding swimmers at the longer distances or 
may find a future in triathlons.

A traditional open water lake swim fell through as the costs to the meet 
host were going to be exhorbitant for the expected participation. North 
Texas had been planning a replacement session at Hurricane Harbor before the 
park opens that would include instruction and a "open water" swim in the 
Lazy River, plus a fun day at discount once the park opened. However the 
event was not planned in time for it to be successful and a substantial 
headcount was needed; plus there were some conflicts trying to schedule on 
the same day as the SWAT B/C meet.

FAST is planning a simple fun day at Hurricane Harbor a little later this 
summer just as a fun day. We will provide more information when we have 
plans finalized.
