To all FAST Members:

We wanted to pass along some information regarding practice times for the
coming swim season and some potential changes to workout start and finish
times due to increased need for pool usage by the FWISD high school teams
for their practices.
As most of you know, we rent the facility from the FWISD and at all times,
their priority rightfully so, is to the high school programs and their
success.
Due to later athletic periods being mandated, added with bus travel time
out to Wilkerson, the concern has been that the FWISD high schools have not
been getting adequate training time with FAST starting it's practice times
at 4:30.
Team President Steve Plamondon has been in contact with FWISD Athletic
Director Herb Stevens regarding pushing all FAST practices back 30 minutes
(so a 4:30 start would now be a 5:00 start and all groups would follow suit
with start and finish times).
The final decision will be made by the FWISD next week at their staff
meeting, however both Head Coach Ron and our President Steve Plamondon
wanted to get this potential change in start times out to the membership so
that families could do some advance planning and adjust schedules as needed
before school goes back and before FAST returns from break.
We are anticipating any change in scheduled start times not to take effect
until September 1st. So normal workout times would stay in effect for the
rest of August when we return from the break.
Ideally, we would like to continue our schedule as it is now, however this
is probably not realistic based on the fact that we are renters and subject
to our pool owner's wishes on how they need to run their programs.
Our team President Steve Plamondon should be hearing back from the ISD on
Monday with the finalized schedule and we will post it for all members just
as soon as we have it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this important message.

  Head Coach Ron Forrest
